Mt Kembla Summit Walk

I made my way through the dead streets of Wollongong on a cloudy Sunday morning to meet some fellow bushwalkers whom i had never met before.
We were walking to the summit of Hat Hill. Hat Hill is also known as Mount Kembla and was named Hat Hill by Captain Cook as it looked like a hat.

Carrington Falls

Carrington Falls are located just out of Robertson along Jamberoo Mountain Road. They are in Budderoo National Park, the same National Park as Minnamurra Rainforest. These are about an hour out of Wollongong. These Falls seem to get busy and there is limited parking.

An hour in the Garden

I went for a stroll in Wollongong Botanical Gardens. The 10 hectares of garden has: a dryland garden, rose garden (which wasn’t in bloom), rainforest, gazebos, Kawasaki Bridge and a heap more to it.

Bicycle vs Car

I decided to take a drive up to Mt Keira Lookout.
The view (although a cloudy day) was spectacular. I could see all the way to Stanwell Tops to the North and Warilla to the South.

Shoalhaven not just beaches

Have you ever done a wineries tour of the Shoalhaven? Have you even noticed the wineries on your drive to the beach? Well let me tell you about some of the wineries.

High Tea in the countryside

Wollongong is very much a city but when you drive half an hour south you can hit the country. Anywhere from Marshall Mount, Yallah or Calderwood Valley you come across working farms and a tonne of acreages. It is nice, peaceful and quiet. Not overly fancy but it is our countryside and I love it. If you are looking for a nice quiet drive it is the place to go (the residents might hate that suggestion but tough).

Bondi to Tamarama

The coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach is a beauty in itself, attracting tonnes of people every year on its own. The walk is 1.2 kilometres long and takes about 20 minutes.

Barangaroo

I decided to brave it, on a spur of the moment, catch the train and head to sydney for the day.
My mission to walk from Town Hall to Barangaroo then get home safely.

I had never been on the train on my own before so was a little worried about getting on the right train.
